On Friday 14 March at 1pm, Leek United Building Society will be holding an ‘F.A. cup’ type draw for its third annual Schools Football Tournament to be held in May.
The event will take place at the Society’s head office in Leek with Mike Williams, Leek United’s Head of Lending, and Leek Town’s Chairman, Paul Burston, making the actual draw.
The Sports Co-ordinator for the local schools, Lynne Batigan, will also be there together with three children from All Saints School who will also be taking part.
The Tournament itself will take place at Harrison Park, the home of Leek Town Football Club with school Year 3 playing on Tuesday 20 May and Year 4 on Thursday 22 May between 6pm and 8pm each evening. The schools involved are:
Woodcroft County First, Leek
Westwood First, Leek
St Edwards First, Cheddleton
All Saints First, Leek
Beresford Memorial First, Leek
Leek Country First, Leek
St Lukes Primary, Endon
Endon Hall Primary, Endon
St Annes Primary, Brown Edge
The first round will be run on a league basis, followed by play-offs and then the final. Medals will be presented to the winners and runners-up and Certificates will be handed to every child who takes part in the Tournament.
